Re: Does anyone know what this song is called?

I was just in Thailand on vacation, and walking on the beach, I heard a beachfront bar playing this reggae song that I loved, but I have no idea who it was. I can't tell you a whole lot about it in print, without being able to communicate the melody, but what I can tell you is that the song mentioned the year 1945, and the year 1985, talking about things going on politically at those times (I believe), and the chorus chanted the lyric "America, merica, merica".
Does anyone have any ideas about what this song is called or who wrote it?
