I'd say you did alright for a first exploration into reggae!
Sly & Robbie - Dub Rocker's Delight ; I love that album, it's my favourite Sly & Robbie album.
Wailing Souls - Firehouse Rock ; Ah, the good ol' Wailing Souls! In my opinion one of the best harmony groups, and Firehouse Rock is a terrific album. If you like dub you might want to check some Scientist, he did dub versions of songs on the Firehouse Rock album.

I'm very interested in finding out what Scientist albums I should check out. I've read some AMG reviews on some of his classic albums, but all of that stuff seems to be out of print.

There are not many Scientist albums you can go wrong with really.
My favourites are 'Heavyweight Dub Champion', '...Curse Of The Vampires' and 'High Priest Of Dub'.
On LP some have seen reissues, not sure if they came out on CD as well.
I believe RAS Records and Tamoki Wambesi released some stuff on CD, don't know if it's any good.

Looks like a good order! Only small adjustment I'd do is when it comes to Steel Pulse and go for Handsworth Revolution instead of True Democracy. It's in my opinion one of the finest UK roots albums.

Dont forget anything produced by Junjo Lawes Volcano

I'd be very happy to look into them if you were to name some albums produced by Volcano.

On a different note, someone suggested that I come back here and give some thoughts on the albums I ordered so that suggestions can be made in regards to what direction I should go in. I want to spend a bit more time digesting the new stuff, but at this point I'm pretty sure that I have some ideas about which direction my taste is developing.

It's quite impossible to mention just five or ten LPs produced by Junjo, cause he released sooooo many great albums. He has 106 Albums in the Roots Archives, most of them with (almost) everyone's favorite Session-Musicians The Roots Radics. These are some of his greatest releases imho:

Barrington Levy - Shaolin Temple, Englishman, Robin Hood (The Voice!!!)
Clint Eastwood & General Saint - Two bad DJ (great Combination)
Don Carlos - Day to day living (super mellow and sweet)
Hugh Mundell - Mundell (The Voice!!!)
John Holt - Police in helicopter (even better when you're stoned ;-)
Johnny Osbourne - Fally Lover/Never stop fighting (Johnny's a true Legend!)
Josey Wales - The Outlaw (my favorite DJ from that era)
Wayne Jarrett - Chip in (brilliant, quite underrated I guess)
Wailing Souls you ordered already, good! ;-)
And imho EVERYTHING that Scientist made for Junjo and Linval Thompson (although Greeensleeves seems to have ripped Scientist off bigtime).

Most of them should be quite easy to get cause Greensleeves re-released many of them not that long ago.

VP put out a Volcano/Junjo compilation (2xLP and CD) called "Volcano Eruption". It looks to have a lot of the classics on the classic Junjo riddims. It might be a good starting place. Ernie's has it for $15.
