Black Uhuru love songs
One of my Black Uhuru/Michael Rose favourite songs is "Sorry for the man", but I dont know more "love" songs of them. Anyone know some more?
Re: Black Uhuru love songs
LOL, well not exactly what i was searching but it has some love references (accoring to youtube):
After first CHORUS "I remember that night we were together Sharing Jah love with one another Those nights I can't forget Lord knows I did sweat (??)"
Of course I meant romantic love, because its curious to me the lack of this kind of songs in Michael Rose/Black Uhuru career, and the only one I knew wasn't strictly love
Thanks!
Re: Black Uhuru love songs
'I am sorry for the man that loves a girl like you' isnt very romantic.. more misogynical like most of black Uhuru's songs about women:
Shine Eye gal & Sistren spring to mind as well.
frankly i think only Moya has a 'lovers' theme
Re: Black Uhuru love songs
Exactly that was my point it goes misogynical and wanted to find a more "lovers" one, its strange they dont have any...
I'm listening to Moya but its hard to me to fully understand the lyrics, seems the story of a hard to find love
Re: Black Uhuru love songs
"Folk Song" from the very early incarnation of Uhuru is pure lovers rock.
Re: Black Uhuru love songs
wow thanks, that's a Curtis Mayfiled cover. I guess is Garth Dennis singing.
Now I'm thinking Michael Rose must be the only jamaican singer without a lovers song! (with the exception of Moya the Queen of I jungle)
Re: Black Uhuru love songs
Space within your Heart and My Concept from the great Positive LP (I know it's Junior Reid, but "Black Uhuru Love Songs" so this post is ontopic).
Re: Black Uhuru love songs
Michael Rose did "African Girl" on X Uhuru

Mihcael recorded and released "Hurry Home Baby" for his own "Grammy Rose" label after he left Uhuru.....a very sentimental lovers tune.
