Hi,

Has anybody heard of an album called "House of Dub" by The D.E.B Players from 1979.

I have seen it on CD but know nothing of this album.

I know the "Umoja" and "Debwise" titles and it is definately not one of those.

It does not show up on roots archives either.

Can anyone tell me anything about it.

Thanks

Dave

Thanks

Dave

This dub LP was unreleased before the 90's. According Badda Music it was advertised on the reggae mags in 79 but remained unreleased.

Nevertheless it was released on LP & CD in the 90's by the Conqueror label (Kickin' Music) under the name of "Return To Umoja" ( http://www.roots-archives.com/release/2962 ). The CD have 5 bonus tracks:

Dennis Brown & Augustus Pablo - Spirit Of Umoja
The Tamlins - Still Water
Earl Cunningham - Words Ii
Junior Delgado - Grab And Flee
Junior Delgado - Tonight

Hi guys.

I got the "House of DEB" on a DEB label CD.

I have since also bought the "Return to Umoja" not realising that it was the same CD but with 5 bonus tracks.

The "Return to Umoja" CD was worth the price just for the Augustus Pablo dub to the tite track.

Absolute Killer and as good as dub gets.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Regards

Dave

"House of D.E.B" in my opinion is better than "Umoja" and "Debwise" (collected by Blood and Fire a while back and re-issued as separately by:
http://www.baddamusic.com/)

To me it has more standout tracks than the other releases.
