Any thoughts on this LP?
(tu) or (td) ?
Has it been repressed or re-released under different title?

Matthew,
Great album. The re-eleases/represses I have seen were all under the same name. I believe that the dubs on the album may have been remixed by Errol Brown after Duke Reid died and Sonia Pottinger took over Treasure Isle.
Regards
Rob

a really nice album, though I prefer vol 2.
Both volumes have been re-released on cd a couple of years ago....

I think I have the pressing with the sleeve with the black background and gold type and logo (titled Treasure Isle Dub Vol 1).
If it's the same album - great stuff. 10 thumbs up!
It contains a whole heap of riddims that are still being re-versioned today

actually now that I check - the one I have is Treasure Isle Vol 2. Great collection.
I have the 2 volumes on CD hence my confusion.
you can't go wrong with either. So 20 thumbs up.
the dub mixing is very simple and really basic a little bit in the style of some of the Studio 1 dub albums such as Better Dub, Dub Store Special, Sample Dub but also similar to the Studio One early dubs the riddims are pretty near perfect and with the unmistakable Treasure Isle warmth and sweetness.
I wouldn't spend too much on this. Should be easy enought to get a reasonably priced vinyl reissue. And the CD is good too.

just listened to Vol 2.
Great, but with one problem I forgot about.
The 2nd side of the pressing I have has the label extending into the last track! and it is one of the best - twilight zone - which was reversioned by Joe Gibbs' Professionals and Dubbed excellently by ET - titled Treasure Dub - on African Dub Almighty chapter 1 or 2 (not sure which and I have it on CD) - and - and! - was the track used for the robbery scene in Rockers.
yeah mon - version!

Bonga,
Pleasure Dub is rare as you say but not as good in my opinion. I particularly like the mixing in the Treasure Dub vols which, as I said before, I believe may be Errol Brown. The mixing on pleasure dub doesn't do it for me.

Rob

Glad to see all the positive feedback on these albums.

Got my copy in the mail today and indeed it was mixed by Errol Brown, executive produced by S.E. Pottinger.
Very nice album, a new fave of mine.
Was told I was purchasing an original press.
Not sure myself.
Label is white not red and the scribes say 'Treasure Dub Volume 1'.
I guess that better than saying 'Treasure Isle Dub Volume 1', but I'm still nervous.
Anyone have the scribed matrix/dead space info off 'Treasure Dub' blue cover lp?
Not 'Treasure Isle Dub Volume 1" with orange cover, thanks.
