Time boom x de devil dead

Post by Morris »

Can anyone tell me if this Lee perry album is any good, I only really know of his Black Ark stuff from the 70`s an was wondering whether to give this a try.

I was also thinking of trying some of the stuff on Adrian Sherwood "On U Sound" label as I have some of the Prince Far I dub albums that he was involved.

Please can you give me some advice and recommendations.

Thanks

The Perry album is his most listenable from that period, backed by Creation Rebel and Sherwood's normal cast of characters ;)

If you like the dry and experimental dubsounds of A.Sherwood's On-U Sounds I would recommend
Deadly Headly Bennett - 35 years from alpha
Bim Sherman - across the red sea
Noah...House of Dread - Heart !
Dr.Pablo & Dub Syndicate - east of the river thames
Singers & Players - war of words
Singers & Players - revenge of the underdog
and all by Creation Rebel be it vocal or dub, even if they never appeared directly on On-U but on some connected labels (Hitrun, Cherry Red, Statik) but are still available through Sherwood's company.
rougher yet

Yes these are Dub Syndicate riddims later voiced by Scratch after Sherwood played them for him and he loved them and wanted to voice over them ASAP.
Possibly the best stuff has done outside Black Ark.
The CD has 4 extra versions of JUNGLE on the RAVI SHANKA riddim (used for the Steve Barker's BBC radio programme "ON THR WIRE")from the LP "Tunes from the missing channel"
SINGERS AND PLAYERS Vol.2 is a nice comp of ONU sounds.
Lick it back Selecta!
