I need help identifying a blank Studio 1 album. There are six tracks (3 per side, showcase style), all on John Holt's ‘A Love I Can Feel’ rhythm. Details as follows:
A1 Wicked Intention – Maureen Thomas
A2 (rap version – artist unknown)
A3 Original Rhythm – Jim Nastic
B1 Man From Studio One – artist unknown (but doesn’t sound like Alton Ellis)
B2 Ramona – artist unknown
B3 Intrumental
Blank white sleeve with ‘Studio 1 – Love I Can Feel Showcase – Various Artists – Pre LP’ written on it. Blank labels with Coxsone’s Music City stamp (Fulton Street address). Matrix numbers SO-CM DLP-1592-A and SO-CM DLP-1592-B.
Was this ever released on an official label and/or in a picture sleeve? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Studio 1 Love I Can Feel Showcase (?)

Thanks for the info. It's difficult to know how to classify these 6 track releases - they are not really albums, nor 12" discomixes. The ones I am aware of are the Flextasy Six Pack, Let's Get It On (J. Isaacs), Teach Us To Love (Desmond Irie), Back A Yard (Roland Richard), and Wicked Intention (Maureen Thomas). Anyone know of any more titles?

My copy has a green Studio 1 label, with the Fulton Street address and the same matrix numbers. It's in a plain sleeve (actually a reversed Eldon Stackable Trays carton).Downbeat Special wrote:Was this ever released on an official label and/or in a picture sleeve?
The sleeve lists all 3 tracks on the A side, as above (including Ebony Goddess - Devon Green), but the B side only lists Man From Studio One - Alton Ellis.
I emailed you this info back in 2000!
