The Return Of The Return Of The Super Ape

Post by Mick Sleeper »

Trojan is releasing a new 2-CD set that combines *Super Ape* and *Return Of The Super Ape*, along with a mixed bag of bonus tracks. Certainly a weird move, since they more or less did the same thing with their Apeology collection in 2007.

While I prefer to be positive about new releases, I can't help but wonder what the Trojan boffins were thinking with this one, especially the weird selection of bonus tracks.

A few more details and links on my [Scratch website](http://www.upsetter.net/scratch/index.htm).

I wanna hear that six minute version of Chase the devil. Such an epic track for me personally.

What about War Ina Babylon over 8 minutes. I bet these are some dull custom mixes by Trojan.. not alternate mixes.

A rather strange release, yes...

The completist in me will buy it for the-previously-not-on-CD tracks/versions, though!

I can't buy another CD just for the bonus tracks. Apeology was a good release, this seems lazy at best.

Go deh, go deh...

What is the difference between the Jamaican version of Super Ape and the Island version? Is it only a different track order, title, and cover or are the mixes different at all?

Don't think that Brent Dowe album would sell well.

It's a different mix. Jamaican version is more rough and less polished.
