Digging for Records

Post by Ranking Will »

I live in San Francisco and feel fortunate to have access to some very good record shops. Between 'Amoeba Music' (San Francisco, CA), 'Wisdom Records' (San Francisco, CA), and 'Funky Riddims Records' (Berkely, CA), I can usually find most everything I'm loking for. For what I cannot find at those locations, I usually look to Ernie B's (www.ebreggae.com) or Eight 4 Eight music (www.eight4eight.com) <-- specializing in Upsetting music.

Someone once told me that many of the original 45 roots pressings ended up in New York. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some ital reggae record shops in New York, California, or any other on-line stores worthy of mention.

It's nice that so many albums are now being remastered and rereleased in digital format, but I still think that nothing beats a rugged original pressing.

I live in New England, and there are almost no roots record shops. I order all my records online, I use www.zionsgate.com They have freshly pressed records and a very large selection. Try it out.
