I.D. of 2 white label 7 inch

Post by Snow Leopard »

Can anyone help (dear Roots Archivers) with 2 unidentified 7" records I have?

1. Randy's label matrix JHK 015. Style - mid 1970's. DJ cut of a song which seems to be called 'Jail House Set Me Free'. Could it be Trinity? Earth & Stone recorded a 'Jail House Set me Free' for Channel One.

2. Puzzle label (prod. G. Murphy) matrix 3541. Early reggae song backed with organ instrumental. The song is about a conceited big-shot with a lyric 'You're in danger, So be careful'.

Thanks.

Check out The Mighty Diamonds "Go Seek Your Rights" and U Roy's "Run Away Child" ( http://www.smokeyroom.net/u-roy/albums/ ... heking.htm ).
Both on the same riddim as "Jail House Set Me Free".

Thanks for the information - I did wonder if it was 'Set Up Yourself'.

Anyone know anything about the Puzzle label, or G. Murphy, the producer of the other record? I don't think I've come across this label before.
