Hi guys,
Hopefully you can help me on this...
I listened to the 1982 Yabby You & Michael Prophet & Wayne Wade - Prophecy album. On this album there are two Wayne Wade tracks called "I Can't Hide" and "You don't want me".
I remember both rhythms are on one dub lp. Maybe a Scientist album or maybe a Revolutionaries album, i really don't know. Tried to figure it out myself to check my collection of over 3,000 reggae albums but couldn't find it yet.
Does anyone knows if these songs are actually on one dub album and which one this is?
Thanks a lot!

"I can't Hide" is the one that's supposedly Lee Perry mixing...

May be on one of the Yabby You meets Tommy McCook albums.
You Don't Want Me is the classic Techniques track, but is I Can't Hide a cover of Ken Parker?

Nope that one is Tony Tuff 1978/1979. Wayne Wade is 1982.Bobbo wrote:"I can't Hide" is the one that's supposedly Lee Perry mixing...

Here's a link to a sample of "You Don't Want Me"
http://s.reggaefever.ch/samples/04/15/13/7.mp3
It is a recut of the Techniques "You Don't Need Me"
The mixing of the dub to "I Can't Hide" is very distinctive - sparse and cut back but very effective. I've got the 7" & 12" both of which have that mix on but all the album cuts I can find have different mixes with more embellishment.
I don't remember both those particular dub cuts being on an album but there are so many about these days.
Cheers
Rob

Actually now I think You Don't Need Me is by the Melodians

Yes quite right, the original was the Melodians. I was on auto pilot there following your earlier message.
I've just checked the B side of Bobby Melody's 7" "Let It Be" which is also on the You Don't Need Me rhythm but it's a completely different cut (Joe Gibbs) to the one on the Wayne Wade records.
