Well Ive only heard (not know) that there are earlier ones...

is the "Undertaker" by Derrick Harriott an all dub album? not sure how to find that out...but it did come out in 1970 according to this website

I'm happy to be corrected. And I know I soon will be if I am wrong!

And if anyone is lucky enough to have a first pressing of Aquarius in Dub, can they tell me what the sound quality is like.

I have a CD release of it and it sounds like it's playing on a transistor radio that's been placed two feet underwater! I've been told that the repress on Vinyl is just as bad.

My understading was that there were 3 dub albums released almost simultanously.

Aquarius Dub - Herman Chin Loy
Java Java Java (also called Java Java Dub)- Clive Chin
Blackboard Jungle Dub - Lee Perry

Of these I believe it was Java Java Dub that hit the streets first.

Aquarius Dub is listed here as 1975, whereas Blackboard Jungle Dub is 1973 and Java Java Java Dub 1972.

Which would suggest one of the following:

Java was indeed first.

or

Roots Archives have got it wrong! Shock Horror!!

OK, OK, maybe the Aquarius LP was released before 1975 on another pressing, white label or something??? I dunno!

Java Java Dub definately recorded late 1972

Aquarius Dub and Blakboard Jungle Dub recorded early 1973.

I am pretty sure of this and that Java Java Dub was released first.

I beleive that Derrick Harriet made his earliest dub recordings with Auustus Pablo in 1975.
