I would like to have some infos on the various mixes of this LP.
http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1474#rel1365
I got the Cruise press and the Auralux reissue. The point is that I can't find my Auralux CD to check sleeve notes and compare the mixes. Hope I'll find it soon...
From memory the Auralux reissue is the same as the one on the Draed At The Control. The Cruise LP have the same mixes but without the sound effects and Mikey Dread's jingles on some tunes or between some tunes. Can anyone confirm?
BTW I think, the Cruise press is from 79 and the DATC one from 80.
Last, there is also a dub set called "At The Control Dubwise" on Dread At The Control label from Ja (1979)
http://www.roots-archives.com/release/4204#rel5199
Three dubs have same name compared to the LPs above (Headline News, Resignation Dub & Comic Strip).
I wonder if this one is the same as "African Anthem Dubwise" with 2 bonus tracks and peraps a different mix.
Any infos?
Thanx in advance

Hi Wareika
If no one is able to help you during the day, I'll happily look at the Auralux notes for you when I get home tonight.

I see it as two drifferent albums.
www.roots-archives.com/release/4204#rel5199 is the "Jamaican" mix album.
www.roots-archives.com/release/1474#rel1365 is the other album with jingles and other dub effects.
Info inlay Auralux is welkom Wareika.

Re: Mikey Dread "African Anthem Dubwise"
I always thought of:
http://www.roots-archives.com/release/4204#rel5199
and
http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1474
being two completely different LPs.
Although I wondered if the DATC JA mix of African Anthem might be different to the Cruise mix.
I am pretty sure the Auralux CD is the cruise mix with a bunch of cool extra tracks that I understood to be 12 inch mixes. I have the CD and it is excellent, well worth the money. I also have the Cruise LP, but have never listened to them side buyside to compare!

Re: Mikey Dread "African Anthem Dubwise"
I have just been speaking to Auralux and the source is a 1/4" tape supplied by Mikey.
Mikey didn't say whether the tape was the DATC or Cruise mix.
I used to have the DATC vinyl and the Auralux CD sounds pretty much as I remember that pressing of "African Anthem..." sounding (ie both had jingles and sound effects on them). I haven't heard "At The Control Dubwise" so can't comment on the additional tracks.
I'll also have a look at the Auralux liner notes tonight to see if I can add anything to this.

Re: Mikey Dread "African Anthem Dubwise"
Didn't find out my CD copy, but I listened to some dub from it as I saved the CD on iTune. It seems the Auralux issue is the same as the one I got on Cruise. I though it was different without jingles and sound effects. I have to say I only listen to the CD once or twice as I'm not into CD...
The alternative mix might be the jam pressing. The UK second pressing on Dread AT The Control might be the same as the Cruise original. Can anyone who owne a DATC UK copy can tell me if it use the Cruise stamper (Matrix is: CRUZ 001 A // B)?

Hi wareika
Just looked at the liner notes and they don't offer any further insight, which I assumed they wouldn't on the back of what I was told by Aurulux yesterday.
Can't help you on the matrix number as I foolishly sold my vinyl copy 20 odd years ago.
