A small list of those who have covered this tune
Songs are called Man Next Door unless otherwise stated

John Holt - Man Next Door (Got To Get Away)
Horace Andy - A Quiet Place (+Dub - called 'A Noisy Place')
Bim Sherman & Strange Parcels (+Dub & + 10inch -> Dub is on the EP)
Dennis Brown (+Dub & + 12inch -> Dub on the single is longer)
The Paragons (+Dub)
King Tubby - A Noisy Place (aka A Quiet Place)
Jahno (instrumental)
Dr Alimantado - Poison Flour
Dr Alimantado - I Shall Fear No Evil
I Roy - Noisey Place
U Roy & Ken Boothe - Peace and Love in the Ghetto
Massive Attack (with Horace Andy)
The Slits (+Dub & 12inch - single was remixed)
Rude Rich and the High Notes (+Dub)
George Nooks - Man Next Door
Dave Barker - I've Got To Get Away
Shinehead - Man Next Door
Tony Tuff - No Warrior (Vivian Jackson)

I like the Bim Sherman one myself and the Strange
Parcels Dub is also the best in my books

Keep Dubbing :o)

I posted earlier but must not have logged in first!

I have the GORGON label 7" re issue with the King Tubby and the Aggrovators
QUIET DUB on the B side

you can get it at reggaerecord.com just do a song search for QUIET PLACE,
also if you do a song search here you will see it on a H. ANDY CD
Lick it back Selecta!

nice work BassGroove, I like the clanking pots and pans mix on the Paragons b/w I Roy 7' on Andy's, prob. the most valuable of the lot. Bim's is a killa, too. The original Jamaican cut was by the Paragons in 1968 as Man in My Neighborhood on their self-prod. Supertone label. I'd guess it was a US track originally....

Cheers for the info folks :o)

aaaand another one -> Frankie Paul - 'No Rest'

The Horace Andy version + Dub appears on the reverse side of a Trojan 10inch - TJHTE 010
A side is 'Ain't No Sunshine'
Also the Tubby's Dub is listed sometimes as 'Dub Place'

I like the irony in the Bim Sherman version where he sings 'I've got to find a noisier place' ;o)
