BAF gone?
Hey, the BAF-webstite is down since a few days. Does this probably mean that the label is gone? There were such rumours recently on the BAF-board itself and no one of the stuff denied it.....it would be a bloody shame. BAF was responsible for some of the best reggae reissues......that was the place where the whole reggae-thing started for me in the ninties.....

Re: BAF gone?
A huge amount of people found reggae through blood+fire and they really are a crucial label, i noticed a few probs with there website over the last few weeks, i even posted a similar message up here the other day but found that it was back online a few mins after i posted it. As far as i know there was no official response to the rumor of them finnishing, i'm sure they woulod tell us if there was something up, i'd hope so anyway, it would be nice if they would offer someone else the opportunity to take the forum over if they where gonna split, but i think they'd keep the forum runnin if nothing else. I think if u keep checking back the site will be back online soon. fingers Crossed.....

I fear that they tried to make good cash for a new release with the singer man comp but maybe it didnt work.....I'm sorry to say this, but I doubt that they are going to be back...

it smells fishy, but if they're gone they are ought to be saluted. seldom has reggae music seen such a great label. they did for reggae what jazz and soul companies had had a long time ago

Re: BAF gone?
Im certain it will reopen soon... the forum's archive itself is crucial for so many people, they are conscious of this. But its strange that they give no info such as "site maintenance" or like dis...

Yeh it is strange, but this has been happening for a few weeks now, but no word on why, i really hope they don't loose the forum.
I know alot of people have said how crap some of there later releases have been but this makes no difference to how good they once where, when they first came out, ever single album was a killa and they made a huge roots+dub reggae revival in the UK and that spread all over the place as far as i can see. There great guys+a great label who have always paid there artists well and there aim wasn't to just make money like alot of labels. Thats how i always seen it anyway...

Blood & Fire message:
"Sorry, but this board is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
Every time people start spreading rumours around when some wedsites or board get down.

Yeah unless someone has *credible* information about Blood & Fire's closing, spare us the speculation. Me, I'm eagerly awaiting the General Echo CD that I saw advertised in XLR8R.
