best young voice? + recommendations
Hi there i was looking for some recommendations
specifically for young early kid voices in roots/dancehall/digital era,
don't know much but by now my favorites are:
* Errol Dunkley (specially "You're gonna need me")
*(young) Yami Bolo
* White Mice (Youth of Today but the whole White Mice LP reissued now on Basic Replay)
check out a clip from an early Yami Bolo:

apeshallnotkillape,
Off the top of my head, Billy Boyo was just a kid when he did Zim Zim in 1983. Clint Eastwood had a very youthful delivery too.

Speak the Truth by Junior Reid (prod by H Mundell) was recorded before his voice broke. Love is a Message by Jacob Miller (Studio One) is similar (i.e. before his voice broke).

this is one of my favorite genres of reggae ...though I never really knew what to call it! My favorite example of this is; Little John - Robe

hahah yeh that's what i thought first, hopefully i've found this forum but when i was about to search over the net for people like errol dunkley, or white mice or yami bolo style in the beginnings it was a bit hard to what to look for, it's like a pretty nice sound, like as if some of the jacksons 5 were doin reggae or toastin over a roots rhythm, throw some more favorites
by now i'd just found the jacob miller single love is a message on Studio One and it's superb

Little John's "Robe" track can be found on his "Early Years" LP produce by Don Mais / Philip Fraser (not sure).
Another Barry Brown & Little John. The "Showdown" LP on "Empire" recs from 82/83 has both these guys in their youth. Not as early as Little John mentioned above but a solid LP it is too. Readily available on repress these days.
