I have that Moll-Selekta CD but the soundquality of my copy is bad, theres background noise throughout the whole CD.

Many of these re-issue CDs are recorded from dodgy sources, like old LPs or even cassette tapes!Max wrote:I have that Moll-Selekta CD but the soundquality of my copy is bad, theres background noise throughout the whole CD.

Linval Thompson also does a version of this song. It's called "Dreadlocks Nah Run". I have it on a Thompson Sound 45. It's pretty much the same song that Barry Brown does, but it is definetely Linval Thompson singing. Both versions are great.

Re: Barry Brown ?
Since this post is about Barry Brown, I have a question?
Is Love and Protection good?
I have about 6 or 7 albums of Barry's but haven't bought Love and Protection. Out of the stuff I have, I found that I liked Far East the least and liked Richman Poorman and Step It Up Youthman the most. Which kind of material is Love and Protection?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Barry Brown ?
It took me a while to stumble across Barry Brown as well, and left me asking "if I found Horace Andy, Johnny Clarke, Linval Thompson, etc, what took me so long to find Barry Brown?!"
Nice tunes indeed.

The lyric Natty Dreadlocks We Nar Run also contains the words "Sitting on the Corner, Skanking With I Daughter, Smoking Marijuana".
I am at work and know this track but cannot place the title.
If it helps.

Re: Barry Brown ?
speaking of gems...
I happened across this 1983 Barry Brown album, "I'm still waiting" presented by Roctone International (RT-007), at the local record store, $5 used. Musicians from High Times and produced by Trevor Burke and Basil Rose. Has anyone heard it?
"Barry Brown is one of the most inspirational singers of our time. His music touches the inner soul of mankind. Barry Brown's music must be played in every dance hall."
respect!

Great price rastadoc. That's exactly $120 cheaper than it went for last time I saw it on the bay.
