Yes, I love Holland too!

Not just for this reason, but because it is one of the most 'sensible' of all EU countries. Sensible people, sensible laws.

To legalise it would mean it would be TAXED and CONTROLLED like Tobacco and Alcahol.
You most probably would not like that!

To decriminalise it would mean it would be,like in Holland,
not so harshly penalised if you had a small ( personal use )
amount.

This would make it less expensive and would free up the Police and courts to enable them to concentrate on HARD drugs.

BUT don't kid yourself, THC can affect people in a very bad way by causing mental health problems AND if you SMOKE anything it WILL damage your lungs.
Lick it back Selecta!

Survival wrote: In fact you are allowed to grow it.. if it is in a small proportion, for your own use.
It is 'officially' not allowed to carry more than 5 gram of marihuana, and you're 'officialy' not allowed to smoke in public.
But the police does nothing about it, just like you say it, it is 'gedoogd'.
this is very interesting... what does 'allow' exactly mean

i live in belgium... did you know i can 'officially' grow not more than 1 plant and 'officially' not allowed to carry more than 3 grams on me

but then again its only legal when there is no law forbidding it

in my case its only a ministrial circuly (ministriele omzendbrief) who gives it the lowest priority concerning prosecution

in short it is not legal but tolerated or 'gedogen' but not as extreme (unfortunatly) as in holland

cannabis is a bronchial and vaso dialator- meaning it will open your bronchial tubes and expand your blood vessels.
in theory an asthmatic can take a puff or two and thwart off an attack.
in theory, smoking in the heat can cool you down by 3 degrees farenheit.
not to mention that cannabinoids have been shown to actually kill cancer cells of certain types.
and that is well known to treat hypertension, insomnia, and chronic pain. that is why there are weak, babylon-run medical companies making and having docs prescribe- guess what they call it? MARINOL!
yikes.

of course clean air in your lungs is better for you than smoking anything at all. but if you enjoy the effects, and there are so many benefits from it, why claim it is so harmful?
so is the dirt on the soles of your sneakers, teh exhaust coming from your cars, and the fact that you are staring forward in a hunched position to write on your computer.

i still smoke daily after over 23 years. i like it too much and i swear it helped my asthma to where i use no medication that docs said i would need. yet that is not why i smoke.
