What do you think about Wackies dub albums?
Hi there,
I guess I'll ask you about Wackies dubs.
What do you think about them?
Am I the only freak to love them all?
I must say Wackies produced probably best dubs imo, with Dub Unlimited being the best.

I especially like the way bass is mixed - as good as on Scientist releases. Don't you think?
What's your fav Wackies dub?
Play it right, play it cool...

I still don't have a few of them. But they have long been top of my list.
This one has been a big one for me since it was very first released. I didn't own it, a very close friend and flat mate did so I heard it lots. (and I managed to buy that very same original copy back recently!)

Funily enough, I was listening to this one today (cd version). Brilliant set, dancehall stylee. Probably my no 2 Wackies. African Roots 2 is also superb, Free for All, Creation Dub...
... and many many more:)

Yeah, I have Creation Dub. That's also massive! Free For All is good too, but some bad sound quality on it.

The dubs from Wackies can be rather hit or miss for me. I love *Free For All Dub* which I think can very well be one of the best dub albums ever released - other releases such as *Creation Dub* though I rarely play.

I love the dub LP's, but if you could compile the B sides of the 7's and 12's I think you destroy each and every released LP.

Yes. Many of the 7s are crucial and they are about the only 7s in my collection I don't plan to sell.
And you can never get enough of the 12s.

I Really do enjoy the Wackies Dub albums. I also love their vocal output too.
One thing I have found with the Wackies sound is that it has grown on me.
The first time I purchased a Wackies title I found the sound very different to what I was expecting to here.
I had really only ever known the raw and edgier sound that was the way it was produced in Jamaican.
Wackies was very different to that and at first I was not sure if I really liked this style or not.
Over the last couple of years I have found that the more I have played them the more I dug what they are all about.
I am now crazy about this sound and get a real buzz from playing them.
For me it really was a case of getting my firt impression wrong. I am so glad I gave them a 2nd and 3rd and 4th chance.
