A serious rasta roots dub?

Post by Dubs_West »

Big ups RA

I`m looking for a serious roots dub with loads of irie bongo drums including horns ripping in and out of the bass with some haunting echoeing vocal making an appearance on occation.A serious rasta dub with the stripped down basics which also posseses a kind of majestic feel to the sound. Here`s some examples for you to work with and hopefully you guyz could name something that qualifies with the above;)

>Living Dub vol.2(Heartbeat label mixed by Barry`O Hare version).

>Spear Burning(the dub sessions and dico mix that appears on i think 4 or 5 tracks of Spears material found on this record)

>Alot of Tubbys work

>Heavyweight Dub by Fatman Riddim Section on Inner Cirlces dub album(quite alot on bongos and drumming)

>Some of Yabby You`s work especially on Dub it to the Top 1976-1979 and Jesus Dread 1972-1977

>A few tracks from "Dub Vibration and Israel Dub" by Israel Vibration.

>Jah Shaka meets Aswad a few tracks from there contain some bongo sessions.

>Living Dub vol.1(The Heartbeat label not the original)

>"Termination Dub"

>Dub sessions on "Yabby You meets Mad Professor at Ariwa Studio"

Hope this helped with regards to what kind of dub i`m searching for:D Please just let your mind flow plus explain the album a bit, thanks in advance

P.S Not nyabingi stlyez but similier in terms of alot of intruments and drumming.

Peace out!(tu)

He is a percussionist (check out the Roots Archive for skully)
He`s worked with all the artists in reggae and played on most of the great dub LPS, 12" and & 7`s.King Tubby, Lee Pery,Channel one,Jammys, Yabby U, and so on.
He often plays on more deeper roots tune that use horn blasts(sax Trombones ect) Tommy McCook, Rico.
There are many music sites you can hear sound clips from LP`s and the like once you`ve checked out what lps they worked on.Those musicans have worked on 100`s of tunes through out the 60`s 70`s and 80`s.
