Best Contemporary Roots Reggae?!?

Post by rodrigocaipiro »

For me, Groundation are the best modern roots reggae band of the moment.
They have culture on the words and sometimes makes me remember those days...
Please if there is another band like groundation can you tell me?!
Respect.

ites deh

respect everytime

you should also try Yahadanai from the virgin islands too. Quite creative. Roots sound. Some Midnite musicians, i think his album was produced by Tippy Alfred, the guitarist.
For Midnite, Ras Mek Peace is from far the best album for me, you can also check Unpolished or Assini. Also take a look at Dezarie from Ste Croix, female roots, some very good songs.
I also already spoke of Matisyahu, mixing roots reggae, oldschool hip hop (for the voice) and jewish religion (lyrics) cheers
