I understand this is finished and has been shown in the US recently. I hope it comes to cinemas in Japan soon. Has anyone seen it yet, though? Is it a good documentary?

I believe the makers of the film were debuting it at the SXSW (South by South West) Festival in US recently.
I don't know when it will be released though. Maybe they will make some changes to it depending on the reaction to its first viewings.
I can't wait to see it, Scracth is one man that is really deserving of having a film about.

Re: Has anyone seen The Upsetter Movie yet?
I thought about and then made the decision not to see this movie.
My reasoning is this....
I found the entire second half of the Lee Perry biography *People Funny Boy* to be an extremely depressing experience-- an experience I would rather not repeat.
I like some of the music he's produced since the early 90s, but I prefer think about him and the work he produced before the demise of the Black Ark. Actually, I prefer to think of him as a producer(of the Wailers, Junior Byles, the Congos, Silvertones, and others)rather than a performer.
I can think of a lot of reasons why I *do not* want to see this film and none for going.

I sort of understand your thinking, Picaraza, but I respect him as a performer -- I really enjoy his 'Jamaican E.T.' and 'Time Boom De Devil Dead' LPs and had a great time at a gig he did with Adrian Sherwood a couple of years ago...

hahahaha no. He's not singing "the ganja man" in the movie but there is a movieclip from that recording when he's singing "Daniel saw the stone". By the way, where can I download/buy the movie?DonDigital wrote:so if you seen it, could you tell me if the clip is from the movie or is that to hard?
