And when i attend any event where Jamaican people go, especially a reggae event, people who probably see themselves as Rasta eat chicken and fish, jerk chicken being a big favourite in Jamaica. The followers of Rasta, like Buddhists, should really be vegetarians. Do you
agree?
And on www.rasta-man.co.uk, a certain alleged Rasta individual , on a thread about EATING OF BACON?ALLOWED IN NEW TESTAMENT? has seen fit to enter a huge page with loud, large, purple letters, to "prove" that plants suffer more than chickens when we kill them...some very very sad people about , out there....

yeah..as the smiths once so correctly and clearly sang..meat is murder.its remarkable that many many people say they are for a just, humane and compassionate world, and yet they eat fish, meat, eggs, drink milk, etc..the main thing for me is that people need to move away from dead flesh

There have been several articles in the UK press in the past two weeks suggesting (correctly) that meat eating is killing the world and people, as well as millions of animals.

The economics of meat don't work so the world is being drained by this madness.

Sadly, none of the journalists writing these pieces actually went as far as saying they themselves had gone veggie or vegan and that the reader's should follow suit.

Meanwhile, I continue to surprise many people here at The Spring Cafe in Lincoln, UK by demonstrating just how tasty (and cheap) vegan and vegetarian food can be!

the economics of meat, well, as you know, the rainforests are being ruined forever..destroyed..due to the greed of people for meat. Someone told me that most soya that is produced in Brazil goes on cattle feed, and cattle end up on human ploates. Some tell me that because soya cultivation in Brazil leads to deforestation, that i am wrong to be a vegetarian. I disagree, as you can get organic soya from sustainable farms anyway..and even if it did mean i drank soya milk from deforested areas..as i will have done, in Brazil..it doesnt invalidate vegan/vegetarian living at all.

No need to feel bad about eating Soya Sean. The amount a human consumes is sustainable.

But you are right to suggest that forests are being cleared to grow soya and corn for animal feeds. The ratio of edible foodstuffs put in to meat production versus the amount that comes out of the end is terrible. It is pure wasting of valuable resources.

And then there's the water involved. Valuable, scarce and going to get more scarce. And yet we continue to commit VAST amounts of the precious stuff in the pursuit of lust for flesh to eat.
