find song ?

A couple of years ago I had a cassette with a song i really liked, but i don't remember the artist or the name of the song (In my memory it was black rose). It had the following lines:

Behold a (black rose ?), sweet and strong
and...
Some fell upon rocks, some fell upon furtile grounds...

I know its not much, but maybe anyone of you can help me further, thanks.

Can't find those lyrics anywhere within Barrington Levi,s version. I believe that Inner Circle did a song called " Garden of Black Roses" but as I don't have a copy couldn't vouch for the lyrics.

The song is from a Toots and the Maytals Album in 1977 called "Toots Presents the Maytals".
