Bob Marley as a Soccer player?

Greetings;

I was reading an interesting article in a old guide of the World Cup of soccer in France ;

"Bob marley, a myth in soccer".. The article says that he was the first Jamaican to play in a foreigner team.."club Naútico Recife of Brasil".. then he went to jamaica to be on the "coach side" of a team.

Personally, I don't think that the article has credibility, but.. we never know. If someone help me on this..

i think this article is not true if i remember bob marley went only one time to brasil to the EMI RECORDS COMPANY party hi went whit his friend dennis brown for less than 30 hours or a weekend, i don't have any doub about his passion to play football or soccer exist a lot of video recordings doing that and his injurie in his toe is the most remarcable link to football..

Seems they may be mixing some details up with Bob's friend Alan Skill Cole.

i gthink bob went in brazil with junior murvin,jacob miller,alan skill cole among other notable friends.he went there to inaugurate i think the ariola group which was also part of island records at the time or some stuff of the kind.they played soccer with former brazilian soccer stars among whom paulo cesar and there is a nice picture of them hanging out on the beach with paulo cesar in bathing trunk.that was in march 1980 and jacob miller was getting ready for a tour of brazil with the wailers when he tragically died.
the only jamaican to have played soccer in brazilian championship and who was very popular at that time was allan skilly cole co-author of positive vibration.
