Bob Marley LPs

Post by rasheedb4 »

I am attempting to complete a collection of Bob Marley LPs with all original pressings and I want to know exactly how to authenticate some of them. I saw an LP for sale for 'Catch a Fire' with a black Island label and wanted to know if this is an authentic because this website does not show any black labels for catch a fire.

I would like to know tips for authenticating other LPs as well

also got burning and trojans african herbsman all bought in the earlyish 70's.

i think he called it that because of the guitar on concrete jungle, which in 73 was never realy heard before,i guess it made it more appealing to rock/progressive fans of the day i guess the sound worked because then marley was on bbc's old grey whistle test the predominantly catered for a rock market.
still i think the original catch a fire recording before the over dubs sounds better, well certainly on tracks like stir it up.

Interesting.
That's how I call it, but didn't know Steve Barnard did so at the time. It makes sense obviously.
