Your Ultimate Album/CD Recommendation

Post by Karl NZ »

I thought it might be interesting to see what others would recommend to someone who was a novice just starting a collection.
One of my all time favourite releases is a Cd called,
High Explosion-DJ Sounds from 1970 to 1976.(Trojan)

[cover=3342,3592]
When i got this CD it started a journey for me to try and discover who all the backing tracks are by i have found about 60-75% of them out but the journey continues.
Whats yours?

Too hard to pick ONE !
But I think THE BEST OF STUDIO ONE BOX SET is crucial!!
and it is CHEAP for 4 discs ( one of 12"s )

and I would suggest the ARKOLOGY BOX SET
3 discs of wicked LEE PERRY produced CLASSICS.

Then the PRINCE FAR I anthology HEAVY MANNERS
(then get all of the Prince Far I dub albums ESSENTIAL !!)
Lick it back Selecta!

Wiser Dread but it's out-of-print. So I guess I would recommend Children Of Jah on B&F.

I'll second Skunkies advice and also Selecta Bing on the Arkology-set.

Another nice one is;

Possibly the best starting point would be the "Rockers" soundtrack...
Timeless and great!

Happy New Year to all!!
