Sorry to hijack, but is this a good album? I tend to like anything that's on Seven Leaves and I'm tempted to give this a try...

So how does this LP (Peace Pipe Dub) sound? I'm very intrigued to hear it.

Too bad about the Sammy Dread. I always thought it was only my copy that had been played by a worn out stylus by the previous owner because the vinyl itself looks almost unplayed. In some way it makes me feel sad that it's the press. Because it rules out the possibility of finding a copy with sounds clear.

you can find some of the vocal versions (and a few other killers) on the Gladstone Anderson - Sings Songs for Today & Tomorrow LP (1982).

The Dubs to "Sing Songs For Today and Tomorrow" are on this album

[cover=2636,3040]

I haven`t heard "Peace Pipe Dub" for some time but from memory i`m sure its a different set of dubs.

Maybe it's only the one riddim thats shared - I seemed to remember more - anyway, the vocal to Supermatic is Thanks and Praises, from "Sing Songs For Today and Tomorrow".

a couple of other vocals:
Pocco Dub (Holy Mount Zion, can find on one of the Pressure SOunds compilations)

War Dance Dub (same riddim as Mike Brooks' "Ship Sails", can't remember where it comes from originally right now)

Roll Call = Holy Children - 12 Inch, Love & Unity

(going by the track titles as they are on the CD - looks like there may be a few mistitled, or at least the names might make more sense if they were switched around a bit)

RE Sammy Dread LP on Seven Leaves...I had a copy that sounded beautiful and pristine on both sides. Then a buddy of mine played his and it sounded terrible on one side like you guys speak of. My copy had red or orange label artwork and his copy had green label artwork. Seems that maybe his copy was a second press made with a bad stamper. Just to let you know that not all copies of this record are bad ones, so do not discount this one or you will definitely miss out on some real scorchers. aDam
