It's an open wiki. Any errors or contributions are free to do. :) The more that help the merrier.

But yeah the Aggrovators are under the title Soul Syndicate in links. Perhaps I should add their other names in parenthesis.

edit: ...done.

Ha, you click through the links and read the differnt line ups, but they are all the same people! Its basically one big band: Kingston All Stars!

Anyone have any photos of players hanging out at Idlers Rest or anything like that? (i love to see photos and videos of artists)

Many of those bands didn't "exist" as live units, is just the producer's name for his productions...for example Aggrovattors is whoever did a session for Bunny lee at the time ( I cannot think of any jamaican musician that didn't play for him)

Basically is impossible to pinpoint exactly the bands' line ups cause any available musician could be replacing even the so called core members and also some musicians change band every few months or did sessions with 7 different bands.
Some bands have 2 different names depending if the play live or in the studio.
Also, they play roots reggae in the studio and commercial Soul / Funk / Pop live at clubs.

Some errors on that link but...is impossible to do a complete line up list, even the musicians can't remember who play with who!
Is a laberynth of names, information, changes of instruments ( some play 2, 3 or more), and....no proper credits kept (this is not jazz!) :)

The biggest fun ( and challenge) for me is to listen to the records and try to spot who plays on it by their style, feel and technique.
Many times, the credits on albums are incomplete (musicians not credited) or totally wrong. Loads of stories circulate about it.

hi inyaki, i'm always amazed that someone can do that, listen to a record and try to spot who plays on it by their style. i dont doubt you. i can most of the time make out some bands , radics or revolutionaries etc, but thats as good as my ears are tuned. are you also a musician??? if so that would make sense to me ;)

I cannot really differenciate by ear the players, or when Ive tried I go wrong easily (the producer, studio... the sound can mix up things in my head). I can guess but I cannot be sure if I dont previously know it (and maybe I know the wrong info...)

Looking at the site (its open wiki? ask me for log in, Ive send and email already for registering) I get curious with Now Generation Band, can someone identify the people of this cover? Ive got Robbie Lynn and a "Chung brother"

Don't recognize the one on the left - Mikey Chung ( bottom)- Robby Lynn (top)- Mikey Boo Richards - Geofrey Chung (right)

I cannot spot all the musicians (nobody can!)
Can spot quite a few, specially drummers/bassist/ studios

It doesn't look like Val Douglas to me (maybe the photo was edited or didn't come for the shoot)

Lots of info still is not on the net.
Internet is not always the most accurate source of information.

well, the nose, the eyebrows, the face in general presents a remarkable resemblance between the photos for me. I could be wrong but I see the same person.

Yes the info in internet is a little bit mix up, at least we can find webs like this :)
