SMASHING SUPERSTARS

Post by MANWEL »

This compilation is listed here with 12 tracks -
http://www.roots-archives.com/release/2076

I have seen back album cover pics of this album with 10 or 11 tracks but never with 12 - if anyone has this album with 12 tracks please post a pic or email it to me at info@manwelt.com

I have (JL Lp 009) 1981 it has 11 songs I noticed that the one RA has listed, was released under (vista) not jah life like the one I have, it might be a re- press with eek a mouse & Jimmy Riley as bonus tracks???

I have always assumed tracklist on RA was wrong as it does not match the album shown here.

http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=1291457

However, ages ago I requested a file download to this album and was sent the tracks that are shown on RA.

So perhaps there is 2 versions to this album ??

As I said there are at least 2 versions of this album (10 tracks on ECHO label, 11 tracks on JAH LIFE label) - if anyone has the album with 12 tracks (vinyl or CD) please post details.

I wonder since there's a CD-R in circulation that the Jimmy Riley track was stuck on as filler inadvertently and it made into RA tracklisting for the Vista release? It seems that particular song was a Burning Sounds/Trojan production and not Jah Life. Just a guess...

I got both the Jah Life & the Echo pressing. There are two different comps with the same cover but only 6 tracks in common. none of them have the Jimmy Riley tune.

Both are realy nice comps!
