Track A4 'Young Generation' vocal Dennis Brown 'Ghetto Girl'
Track B1 'Boz Rock' vocal Dennis Brown 'Mean Girl'
Again, the CD came with some fine liner notes with it.

From which Dennis Brown's albums are the above two tracks?

"Boz Rock" is on Junior Byles' "Heart And Soul" track. It's NOT a Dennis Brown vocal. You can hear some of Byles' original vocals in the song. Nothing to do with Dennis Brown.

I don't know if "Ghetto Girl" was ever on an album. It was re-recorded as "Stay At Home" on Dennis Brown's "Visions" LP, but it's a different recording obviously, and not the one Far I used for "Young Generation".

Jah bless.

Overall, the voice & the material drove me mad -

Well, the first ten tracks (original "Heavy Manners" album) have clearly been mastered from vinyl, and no effort has been made to remove the pops, hisses and crackles that come with vinyl sound.
Yes the bonus tracks sound different, as they contain no vinyl crackle. I guess these tracks were recorded from master tape, but I wonder if that means the master tapes for the "Heavy Manners" LP are lost or what?

Yep - it sounds pretty much like one of those quick, no-frills vinyl rip jobs you can do on your home computer (you know, just so you can listen to the record you bought on your PC) by simply plugging your turntable into the line in of your soundcard, playing the record in Audacity, marking out the tracks and then saving the result as mp3s.

Doesn't even sound like they used a particularly clean vinyl copy...

I've heard far better-sounding versions of the title track itself on various compilations over the years, so I doubt that was the best that they could do.

young generation is not Dennis Brown's voice... (and has been a mystery for years..)
