Only CD, as far as I know. Heartbeat releases are getting hard to find, but you should be able to find it on Amazon or E-Bay.

I think Trojan's I Am The Upsetter Box Set is a better choice. More expensive, of course, but it's got great packaging, informative sleeve notes, and an excellent choice of material that spans Scratch's entire career.

@Mick = for some reason, I've ALWAYS loved the History Mystery Prophecy album and never understood why it go such a bad reputation

I quite like the album with Terrorists, that came right after. (released on Heartbeat, I think)

I Am The Upsetter is a fantastic 4-CD set with extensive and insightful sleeve notes by Jeremy Collingwood, great looking design, and an almost faultless selection of material. The set covers 1968 - 1978, "the golden years" of Lee Perry indeed: from the rollicking early reggae of "Return Of Django" to dreader numbers like "Preacher Man" and feverish Black Ark masterpieces like "City Too Hot", this set contains more than four hours of the music that legends are made of. Besides of all of the usual suspects, the set contains some upsetting rarities, such as "All Over" by Eccles and Neville, "Black Man Time" by Lee Perry, the original George Faith (AKA George Earl) version of "To Be A Lover" and a dubplate version of Keith Rowe's "Groovy Situation". The inclusion of several disco mixes ("Words", "Know Love", "Sons Of Slaves", "Bad Weed" and "City Too Hot") is a great bonus. I Am The Upsetter is just as crucial a set as Island's Arkology, and is a must for new fans as well as a collector's item for serious ones.

well i stand corrected. i havent even heard half that stuff. however, nothing is worth 45 quid. basically there's no shortage of lee perry stuff out there, and as long as you get an album on a decent label there'll probably be something you like on there. just dont get Dubstrumentals, cos it aint dub, or very interesting.

I'm seeing that box set on Amazon for a very reasonable and tempting 23 quid:

Wow, the 3 albums that make up Dubstrumentals are killer! Mystified by your comment. Return of Wax has some low points, I'll admit, but Vin Gordon tearing it up all over Musical Bones is not to be missed.

admittedly, the vin gordan set is quite interesting. although i could never really get into it. return of the wax is quite boring, and apart from the sound effects the kung fu album is pretty uninspiring. this is only my opinion of course. i found dub tryptich to be wayyy better. dub revolution . wowee

Well, they are a bit different in style and dub tryptich is definitely more on the dub side of things. Dub tryptich is definitely the better place to direct a newcomer. But depending on my mood, I like the albums on dubstrumentals as much. I can't remember the name but there is at least one tune on Return of Wax that is pretty huge, I think.
