not neccessarily just the institution of the church per se, but those within who are morally corrupt - using the institution to further their own agendas.
i doubt that any Rasta is down on Jesus or anyone else in The Bible, but moreso in the way that they feel that mankind has built organized religion into a corrupt institution unto itself, in much the same way a government exists to rule people.
there's really two different kinds of church in Jamaica, the traditional Anglican, Catholic, etc that's more organized and institutional ... and the Revival/Pocomania/Kumina/etc. churches that incorporate African elements into the worship which are more grass roots and operate independently, typically in poorer areas. i really don't know how Rastas regard the African-based denominations...
there are probably more churches of all sorts per capita in Jamaica than just about anywhere else on earth.
the traditional church in JA has often been accused of abdicating any role of leadership or involvement in the social issues that have plagued JA for decades.
