Do PS still say that they're not going to be responsible for items lost in the post unless you pay them extra for tracked shipping?
If a seller accepts Paypal but still says things like that, then it always leaves me with a bad impression.
(actually, even if the buyer pays by regular card, I don't think that they can disclaim that)

I received the CD today and found the postage paid by Pressure Sounds to be £1.20. They have made a profit of £2.80 on the postage alone.
Mail order costs encompass both "shipping", which is the cost of sending through the post, and "handling", which is the cost of having someone stuff the order in a cardboard mailer, get it to the post office etc. Many companies hire third parties to do the mailing for them (and they need to eat as well), so without factoring in all these details, you really have no idea of the "profit" PS makes on each order.

In the US Amazon is now charging $4 per cd, domestic which is also a total rip off since postage for most cd's (if you buy postage online) should be just under 2$. I haven't bought or sold anything with them since. The USPS postage overseas has also gotten outrageous,I shipped an lp to the uk the other day and it cost 18$. I guess they really want to cut down on overseas trade or something. Oh well, at least it's good for local businesses....can't wait to the new extra internet purchase taxes hit too, lol. They are really giving us the squeeze it appears....

Yah, buying from the USA if you're in the UK (or elsewhere in Europe, I'd presume) is only really worth it now if you're buying a buttload of stuff at the same time.
I got charged something like $16 postage for two CDs a few weeks ago. The seller himself was surprised at that...
