I wondered that too, but then well I guess the conviction of an artist normally boosts the record sales. A lable not releasing material from a just arrested artist seems like a stupid business choice. But maybe, just maybe these lable guys are really decent people, not calculating business man.

More like Eek wasn't going to get royalties only Linval Thompson so Eek kicked up a bit of stink and Linval said screw it we won't release it at all then no one will make any money out of it... except presumably that Hot Milk has lost some money on the work done so far.... Pure guess work based on nothing but my musings... Hot Milk how about wading in and telling us what happened? so sorry this release hasn't worked out for you, I hope it doesn't stop you releasing exciting stuff.

On a side note, given that Linval is pretty good at re-releasing his productions I'm surprised he didn't just release this himself. He has made many, (if not enough) of his productions available for download on Amazon etc

For the life of me I don't get why all JA producers don't make all of there stuff available for purchase on Amazon etc all their work is available for free for the crooks online, why not make it available for a fair price and make some money out of it... greed I presume

Do you actually think Eek had any rights/say over this release? Especially given what we know about JA music business when it was released and that it was his first as a newbie in the business, I can't imagine that he has any ownership. Maybe if he threatened lawsuit it was enough to scare Thompson, who knows...

The real reason will probably turn out to be really boring... if indeed we ever find out

My guess is that it's because half the tracks are already available on the Greensleeves release Skidip.
