lol, you too are right Jah Rumble, "rumours" is great, i ask me how i had rate it so low :/
Finally i dont think that late Aswad stuff can be compared, i dont know with what band we can compare them for "headline news"...

headline news is the best from all 3 albums vineyards its alright, and bread n water is ok too but headline news is the best roots album from all 3 my opinon at least n see for urself

if ur more into ska try "bread n water" there are only 4 tracks recorded on there. why ? i myself dont know

____ why there s only 4 tracks it was just because it is not an album but a 7 " with 2 little tracks on each side . i think it was an eperimentation ...."do we really need a government" is a good track.

To me the 2 albums are on the same height in my heart one for his great rythm & voicing (headline news) & the other is for me one of the darkest sound i have on vynil at home which tunes could i play louder than "bagga wolf" How far" "vinyard" "africa bound" or "No Jobs" killer LP.....

I have Vinyard and Headline News. Both are great. Maybe I like headline news a little bit more

Not as enthousiastic as my reggaemates about this band although I appreciate it, some nice tunes, but not "inspired" in my opinion. Black roots, matumbi, early lkj, Black slate are far better for my ears..

What about Cimarons? We talk often of this english bands but Cimarons is for me from far the best popular uk band... Just the compil "people say" and the album "maka" beat them all!

right on you fab, cimarons is one of my favorite bands. "Wake up Jah man" can will always remain as one of the strongest roots tunes I know, it shakes me to the bone !

Been listening a lot lately to *Vinyard*. Never really rated *Headline News*. It had a few good titles but didn't really do much for me as it felt quite uninspired. Since that album was the first of the group that I bought it put me off checking more of their recordings.

I did however buy Vinyard some months ago just because I had found it very cheap and thought it was worth a shot. What a great set it is! Basically all songs are typical english deep roots gems. The title track is heavier than led! The sound is very UK and I'd say it's really reminiscent of groups like Black Roots - slow, rumbling sufferers music.

The funny thing though is that I figured that since people never spoke about Vinyard it had probably been a weak attempt by the group at doing the same thing over again in hope to have yet another big hit (as I guess Headline News was) but instead they ended up with a forgotten and rather dull album. Boy was I wrong! This is a slice of some of the finest UK roots I've ever heard!

One thing I wonder though ... it seems this LP only has seen official release in Germany and Scandinavia through Gulp/MNW. Who released it in the UK (was it ever released in the UK?)
