Darewon, if I had a dollar for every great, rare and collectable Dub LP I once had, I'd probably be able to buy ONE of them again...
Although I did luck out and pick up the pre-release of 'Dub To Africa' for just £12 !!!
Needless to say, I put the Re-Release of it that I picked up from Sterns in London straight onto ebay after picking that gem up.
I also managed to track down my actual, original, pre-release of Leggo Dub (I know it was mine because of unique WOL) - but I had to pay SIXTY pounds to buy back what I once bought (and sold) for TWO pounds!
Funny thing is, I have a son and a son-in-law who both buy rare house music releases on vinyl. Neither of them look after the stuff, leaving it knocking around out of the covers, storing it STACKED up in hot places and mislaying the company sleeves. They even - horro of horrors - touch the playing surface!
And then they sell the stuff for pennies to buy food, petrol or drugs!
But neither of them listen to the words of advice from an old tosser who has lived to regret doing just that (although I ALWAYS treated my vinyl with meticulous care).
*sigh*
