Bloodclaat, haven't heard of that one! I am completely crazy about Zukie's productions, his rhythms are of the heaviest ever made in JA!! For the people who don't know, just check out Knowledge or Prince Alla on his "Stars" label...

Definitely have to keep an eye out!

And yeah, I figured the vinyl presses would sound better. I'd really much like to know who's responsible for the Frontline CD releases, for the titles are essential but the end products somehow manage to turn out quite the opposite...

sorry for being off topic, but youthman deh reminded me of one of my favorite songs produced by tappa zukie: Horace Andy - Natty Dread A Weh She Want. the disco cut is killer.

according to me Right time is better than kool roots, right time is one of the best reggae album ever made !!! even people who don't like reggae will probably love it, kool roots is far away from it.
But it's my point of view, cause many people rather stuff which are rare, but not everything rare is great ! many rare albums are bad !!!

but kool roots is a good one but not as goos as right time

as far as iam concerned both bands are good and i appreciate both lps even though "right time" is not my diamonds -all- time favourite.but taken from a historical point of view,it was very critical for it really got channel one studios started and the militant beat of sly and the revolutionnaries was on the map and would graced most of the lps that were to surface in the 70's.
i love the harmonies in "kool roots",but more the dub than the vocal lp.
the brother who mentioned digital remastering as not doing justice to the lp is right.there is nothing like a vinyl played on a sophisticated and genuine diamond and it is high time thta the people realized that technology doesn't mean everytime quality.
as far as iam concerned, one should also give a try to"planet earth" as well as"back to roots, back to channel",my migthy diamonds all time favourite;and if you could burn both the vocal+the dub on one cd,than you coulld appreciate both the high standard of playing of the soul syndicate on this album, and the vocal potential of tabby shaw and their soulful harmonies.the sound of channel one is not really bass-oriented to me
nevertheless, they are both high standard lps
