theres nothing like reggae music.

thats a memorable one for me,but i kept getting tapes from trini of wicked reggae mixes by dr hyde.i had no idea who anyone was but played theese tapes over and over.since then going on 11-14 years now ive grown to love 70,80,90s,00s most genres and styles.

Hard for tell what SONG but for my first experience in underground roots reggae was The Gladiators "dreadlocks the time is now" compilation and Hugh Mundell "mundell".
In the same week the same guy had give me another tapes: Don Carlos "harvest time", the Mighty Diamonds "right time", Hugh Mundell "Blackman foundation", the Gladiators "symbol of reality", i was terrorised!!!
If not i had hear and like lot of BMW first when i was very young, but still think that only him was great in reggae...

I read a review of "Red" by Black Uhuru in 1981 and tried it at the local record shop. That's how it all started..

Same as Zion Gates!...a tape of Black Uhuru / Sinsemilla from my sister have blown me away something than 10-15 years ago.

I think it was Israel Vibrations "Reggae On The River", I still love that tune in secret and im very disappointed that the group split up and I probably will never hear it live, though I have more respect for most of their other tunes these days.

My girlfriend was a huge bob marley fan...She lend me the legend album...I liked it...but it was the Rastaman Vibration album that made me a reggae fan, listener and lover...
