Fabroots, you're just bitter because i didn't want to send you an album a while back, you said some stupid shit like "I'll have it with or without you....whatever." remember ? So you send me a private message after you see this "LOL" post bragging about how you got it now. WOW ! good for you ! plus i've never said anything to you, i was just laughing because of IrieMystic's post. Jackass.
Knowing how many albums are out there, and singles, is pretty much impossible, there are too many.

An interesting observation (over many years many forums) its always the roots fans and not the ragga or dancehall fans fighting online.Ironic.

The first time that the word reggae was mentioned was by Alton Ellis i think in the song "Do the Reggay. Please moderator close down this thread. It has nothing to do with Roots.

I heard about that Alton Ellis and Toots thing.
But also another story: When rocksteady turned to reggae the producers wanted the riddim guitarists to play like....reggae..reggae..reggae (short tone) instead of chaang....chaang (like rocksteady/long tone).
Musicians were instructed how to mark the rhythm and to play a little faster.
So they called their new style...-guess:-))...reggae.
Sounds like a typical Jamaican story. And I believe it.
Cheers,
I-Lion

part of the thing is that alot of the albums we know today (as per Roots Archives criteria) are later compilations and there were so many singles put out that could later form the basis of compilations, so there's really no hard number.
