I would definately be interested and i will now check out 2 and 3, The copy on ebay has some initials on the sleeve and the label, which isn't really a bother to me. the price is about $70. AUD or the equivialnt of 40 Quid with the postage, is that expensive, i have no idea?

Seems to me that much of this stuff isn't re-released on vinyl, why don't they get their act together so we can all have a copy at a reasonable price

Managed to score a reissue (1987) of dub massacre 1 on Ebay last night for $27.00 Aussie Dollars including postage. Both record and sleeve VG++

Loving the Dub conference record, it's a very warm sounding album, and different, as you say. I'm not an expert but i can hear some soul influences on the first track, kind of around the mood of Curtis Mayfield or something.

The more i listen to this stuff, i feel like i know something that many people aren't aware of, and that somehow a lot of this has been overlooked by the majority, including myself.

First time hear this kind of music when I was in college back in 1999. It was a female artis from japan UA (Kaori Hasegawa)with her Turbo album.
Never heard about dub before so i think this must be some kind of avant garde japanese digital reggae. lol
Especially song Kazoe Tarinai Yoru no Ashioto (pele dubwise version 2)..

I've been listening reggae for years, like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, and rocksteady and ska, but never hear about 'dub'.
Until my friend came in 2001 and dropped The Congos CD, Heart of The Congos, and he said "listen, this is what they call 'dub'. lol
But at those years, internet connection in Indonesia is far from today.
And people who knowing about this genre still very few.

Hello Mike - Australia is a bit of a wasteland when it comes to 2nd hand reggae LP's in shops or even finding people who dig a bit further than Bob Marley. If you happen to be in Sydney on the 24th Sept - there's the Glebe record fair - I'll be there with 4 or 5 boxes of reggae including plenty of dub - always love to talk reggae with anyone interested....you've already mentioned 2 of my favourite dubs - btw that Contempo record is real hard to get - almost as hard as finding a pair of speakers that can handle it!

Yes, Contempo is indeed a special kind of album. The vocal album by them is also nice although it doesn't correspond to the dubs. But there has to be vocals somewhere since you can hear snippets at some places. Probably on masters in someone cupboard somewhere in the UK!

Glad to hear you found it AussieMike! $40 incl. shipping might be reasonable. I don't really know to be honest. I think they were quite common just a few years ago as Norman Grant has been very good in keeping his catalogue available. By the way. Pt. 3 must have one of the best sleeves ever in that minimalistic hard core roots type of style.

Today's dub album is Dub To Africa (1979, Hitrun LP). I love all of those Far I sets. Talk about bass weight.

There's 3 volumes I think...it was one of my first dub records and it really is so different compared to anything else in the genre. Glad you enjoyed it.
