well in my opinion this album has a great early 80 sound with deep bass. I'm not a big big fan of Junior Reid but still is voice is fine. I think mini bus driver often sounds similar to Black Uhuru works, at least regarding the rhythms and lines.
So not incredible but valuable,

Jnr Reid is voice of Waterhous yard.
Like Don Carlos/Michael Rose and much more singers.
All Waterhouse voice style.

Love the album (and the cover picture)- raw roots production and unrestrained youthful vocals from Junior. I saw Junior (sharing a bill with Don Carlos and Gold with Sugar Minott headlining) in Glasgow years ago, Junior just performed 2 songs, Mini Bus Driver and a Bob Marley medley, but I would have liked to have heard more. Don and Gold just did a couple of songs too, Blackout in the Ghetto and Them Never Know... I think, then Sugar just tore up the place!

I just received this cd reissue in my mail this morning, having ordered it from our local reggae shop - after having heard it only once I would say it's a good album, but the riddims (steppers?) are early 80s style, i.e. slower and more plodding than 70s roots - if you know what I mean.
hope it helps

I dig this album, but then again I love most Junior Reid works. I keep meaning to pick up the re-issue CD since the versions I have are pretty worn sounding. I sure hope they added the 12" version of the title track to the re-issue cause that's a wicked version.
