and I do call him King Marley, I so much agree with *Collie* and *Well Charge*

as i spoke to jamaican's Bob was and always will be the king.Just because his music was opend to all the world because of the help of Island.rec. it doest mean a thing.
i think many of you know that he was tallented not only as a musician, and many facts about his life are fantastic.
King of reggae it doest mean best reggae artist,we cant say Black Sabath are kings of heavy metal, but they are most original ones, but Bob made it possible for people to understand that words can mean a lot, first time i heard his lyrics i didnt understand a thing, still i felt smth i can't describe....it was 10 years ago.now im into reggae music,im white,i dont have dread locks,i have tattoos,i eat meat.thats not the point.
remember :rasta and reggae are one thing, but two roads for different passengers,i just love reggae, the jungle ,i love my djembe,calli...many of the names everybody mentioned here(horacy, sugar minot, hugh mundell and so on)are my favorite singers too,and if not bob i wouldn't discover them.
today i maybe dont lissen to his music,i have my playlist of the vibes i prefer, but if not he,if not all the years with his music,if not the "Londons Rainbow Theater" show,if not the feeling wich Bob passed to me,i wouldn't bee here,i would be lika a blank paper....
so as i discovered,we all come from africa,we all are one.we all are people with diffrent believes, but one thing is sure...he is was and will be the king of reggae music, and it is not for us tu judge,it is fot us to lissen.
p.s. sorry for my english

Whatever his postion, Bob certainly deserves to wear a reggae crown of some sort. But for me reggae music has many kings and queens.

It is not only a question of being a good singer or the best one. Of course loads of great singers (Ken Booth, Max Romeo, IJahMan,..., )that you can consider as better if you feel it this way, but can you quote even 1 person in the whole jamaican music history who managed to develop and keep from alpha to omega such a high quality.
Burnin an lootin, concrete jungle, rat race .. so much higher than high tunes , so much
Each of his albums is a masterpiece, musically ,lyrically, vocally, spiritually. No one reached such a height in my opinion.
And who managed to reach so much people in the world, who in the whole musical world was able to create such a deep and revolutionnary wave? In each and everfy part of the world, reggae=marley, it his his prophet if u consider it spiritually, it is his main representative if you consider it socially. You know, even on the political side, think about the One Love Peace Concert, think about Smile Jamaica 1 day after he was shot. Who went so far for this music and its message?
But once again and we repeated it so many times in this forum, we here express our feelings we don't try to impose our vision or to establish a truth,
Blessyouall
