Unlike most of you, I like reggaeton. Lyrics are not badder than those from contemporan ragga.
Tego Calderon is my favorite by far, very good flow, imaginative lyrics, and great riddims.

I am from LatinAmerica and the only music you can hear in the radios is the fucking reggaeton. The lyrics dont have any message, they only sing about girls , money and who is the king of the reggaeton.
FYAH BURN REGGAETON!

This is one of the things the devil uses to destroy the roots. like ragga this has pulled out of the great inspiration of Roots Reggae, but in the wrong direction.
Shortly said: abuse of the roots.
this thing is even not for blondes. there is really NOTHING in the message & the 'music' is computerized crap.
We really need to split up the music-business into: THE MUSIC & the rest.
The choice is your's
Jah Roots live forever !!!!
Peace

The Cuban government hates it as well as it gave the poorest a voice of what was happening in their lives(albeit there are other facets as well). They tried their hardest to get it banned ,without radio play it developed into a world success.Gueto gente voz.
I am not a fan so i dont buy it and therefor dont hate it

it sounds like an atari video game soundtrack with no-talent-having idiots making themselves sound even stupider and more shallow. just the opposite our socially and spiritually conscious music that most of the users of this board embrace.
in my opinion, reggaton is a total waste of time and resources.
another rant - everyone has the right to listen to what they want to, but please turn that crap down. i live in ny and the mess dominates the air. thankfully i have earphones.

Right now I'm listining to 'Churchical Chants of the Nyabinghi'. Roots-music from the inner-Man (not from an empty brain).
Spiritual & Positive Vibes.

sorry to bring the hatred.Don't get it wrong, in the early 90s much of the artist were originals and talk about social matters. At first it was to graffic and the goverment oppose. Now the political partys even make their songs in regeton. There are a couple of good artist but comercialization is poluting the music even more. The good regeton stay in the 90s

Again pitie that the commercialization takes it in the bad/wrong direction.
Indeed, positive music is what count (if it's roots, dub, jazz, reggaeton,...)
