Probably is, yeah. But there you go. I guess I am a romantic fool. Must be the artist in me.

I'm not saying I agree with gun violnce. Or that I like it. I really don't. And I certainly don't like oppression, poverty, homelessness and injustice.

I iust feel the rough edge of sufferation comes out in the music (or art).

Ok, Joseph Hill I think wasn't a gangster, him a true Rasta. But his music has that hard edge brought about because of the suffering of his people and no doubt himself.

I guess that's what I mean.

I'm interested in that album called Bibow Live.

I'm wondering if it is the same album as one I borrowed from Lewisham library in 1985. It was called "George Phang & Friends At Skateland Live" and from memory the cover was yellow and had a picture of the dance. I've still got the the album on tape which I transferred to CD although I managed to delete the first 20seconds.

The DJs were Buro, John Wayne, Lady Ann, Mother Liza,Squiddly Ranking, Dickie Ranking & Kojak.

It is raucous toasting over Powerhouse cuts of rhythms including Shank I Shek & Mojo Rocksteady/Dub Street (Buy Off The Bar).

Is that the same as your one?

Hi,just dug it up .It is called Big Bow Live Inna DanceHall Style.Produced by George Phang.Sound System was Lees Unlimited.Only matrix i see is DSR 6411.Artists on it are peter metro,squiddly ranking,burro,little john,black uhuru,john wayne,carrot,toyan,thriller,dickie ranking.It was
recorded at Enid Anglin Center.

Rob- i have seen that George Phange at Skateland lp,it is a different one.I once had a chance to buy it ,went back 2 days later it was gone.Sounds like a wicked library tho.

I guess should have added it is on the Gorgon Label.

Thanks for checking. Shame you couldn't get that Skateland LP. My taped copy is fairly good quality but I accidently deleted the first few seconds of the lead in to the first track on the Heavenless Rhythm where the operator says (from memory) "see them in a dancehall style Burro we have to mash it all the while"

Lewisham Library SE London was brilliant for Reggae in the mid 80s they had over 100 crucial albums. I borrowed some and taped them but in the summer of 85 the library was burgled and all the reggae albums were taken.
