For me it all started with KRO's Demo! And some pirate radio stations like Amsterdam's Radio Disco Action (2 hours of reggae on sunday afternoon, with DJ Papa Loddy).
I guess that was 1983-1984.

KRO's Rocktempel was also a fantastic radio show with lots of reggae concerts.

Most of those legendary reggae concerts can be obtained from Beeld en Geluid archives in Hilversum (www.beeldengeluid.nl)

I already received some great cd's, like The Wailing Souls (Vera, Groningen 1984) and Tappa Zukie (Paradiso 1981)

The costs for these recordings are between 30-50 euros (depends on length)

A whole lot of memories coming back !
Pappa loddy, Jah Levi, illegal A'dam radio.
For me, it was one of the few ways of listening to new sounds in those days, together with VPRO radio.
And of course the sound system in 'place called Stip': Shashamane HiFi (owner was a man called Moss, he also had a shop at weteringcircuit)
I still got some of the VPRO demo stuff but on poor tapes so I'm very interested in your downloads,
Thanks fot that!
