Great thread! I busted out Billy Boyo "One Spliff a Day" on a Ganja mix I made for a friend who hasn't heard much reggae and he was blown away. Billy has such a smooth flow and the lyrics are too cool. I will defiately check out the stuff you guys are reccomending.

Imo the best young voice ever was Dennis Brown.
George Nooks aka Prince Mohhamed i beleve is one of the smoothest singers ever,right up to today his new stuff to the old.

yoo all the replies, didn't tought about early Dennis Brown!! its been hard to find Boyo's one spliff a day, still i played it and got hooked up again with White Mice, i can't help but recommend this tracks
both the versions and the originals, can't decide which ones are greater:

related to the whole reggae kids genre or earlier youth singing reggae, this is a compilation out there on a recommended label that's released everything from soul made by kids in the Jacksons 5 vein that is probably what influenced all this reggae kids at the time, as it happened with earlier rocksteady and earlier ska that was influenced pretty hard by the soul of the 60's on america... pretty good and damn enjoyable compilation here's the link and the tracklist:
