Your Rasta writer has the correct attitude but one that is frankly very hard to hold.

We are all the same, as we are all souls. Our bodies may look different but essentially we are all equal. Even the animals. So you need to respect all life.

But having said that, if you find some stringy smackhead on the top of your roof stealing the lead flashing so he can sell it for more drugs, how do you react? I would find it very hard to let him leave, with the lead for his next fix, and not push him off my roof!

A little guidance off the edge of a roof would be one soloution.
