Dude...countryman displays the iconic, mystical, righteous rasta...its a classic, so good, especially the scene in the beginning when pass it on is playing and hes cutting up all that fruit and cooking that lobster all the while puffing on spliffs haha i love it :D

Countryman is epic. A classic film. It is good over evil. I agree with Easy. The Pass It On scene is the best of the movie. Plus, Jah-Man has got some great quotes. Great movie.

Countryman is a classic piece of crap, that why only people within reggae circles know about it. I agree though the "Pass It On" portion of the film is the best part but why does the lady take off her and show her sagging breasts?-dumb T & A shot IMO.

Anyway that portion of the film is based on producer Chris Blackwell's real life experience when he crashed at sea and a Rasta saved him and restored his health. But come on the Rasta's kung fu hand to hand combat techniques (he sure can run though) and much of the film = weak plot and cinematography.

Anyway a lot of you love everything reggae no matter how bad it is & missed the point in my post check out the 400 Blows-its a good film- a real work of art. RASpect.

countryman

not related to roots but good for the mind--
city of lost children
the fountain (a recent-ish movie)
mosquito coast (important message)
black robe (another important message)
the last emperor

and you gotta love the ruttles (not important but will make beatles fans laugh to tears)
