Okay, here is my latest installation of questions as I dive deeper into this incredible sound...I find myself in a roots whirlwind, & I couldn't get out if I wanted to, which I don't. I am completely blown away & fascinated by what I am experiencing.
Are the 12" extended versions considered dub? Or are extended versions and dub completely different?
It seems, by what I've been hearing, that the producer would find a band to lay down the tracks for the singer...the producer would then use the music tracks to create dub/extended versions for sound systems and for the 12" records...does this sound like I've got it right? How much input did the singer have into the sounds?
Once again, thanks for your answers, but I suspect that asking questions here is like asking an engineer to describe the latest in engineering developments...
Which leads me to ask this last question (for now):
Why do electricians have trouble meditating?
Because they experience resistance (Ohmmmm!!)
